Ascension Catholic School 2025/2026 Admissions

It’s not too early to start thinking about the 2025/2026 school year, especially if you’re considering enrolling your child at Ascension Catholic School!

Ascension Catholic School is comprised of a preschool with PK3 and VPK classrooms, an elementary school with Kindergarten – 5th grades, and a middle school with grades 6th - 8th.

The first step in our admissions process is to set up a tour. We schedule tours throughout the school year, however, most families attend one of our Open Houses.

Our first Open House will be on Thursday, November 14th from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. No appointment is necessary on open house days. Just come when it is convenient for you and your family. Children are welcome to attend tours, but it is not required. The second Open House will be in January during Catholic Schools Week. Details will be communicated on our school’s website (www.ascensioncatholicsch.org), Facebook page (AscensionCatholicSchoolMelbourne), Instagram page (acs_eagles_melbourne), and the Ascension Catholic Church bulletin.

After your family has toured our school, you will be emailed a link to start the application process.  Applications for the 2025/2026 school year will open December 1, 2024. In addition to the application, the Admissions Committee requires elementary and middle school students to submit the following information;

  • the student’s most recent report card and standardized test scores,

  • final report card and test scores from the previous two school years.

  • If your child has an IEP or 504, this must be submitted during the application process (all ages from PK3 – 8th grade).

In February, our currently enrolled families, will be invited to re-enroll for the upcoming school year. Once this time period has been completed, the Admissions Committee will begin reviewing new applications. For all Kindergarten – 8th grade applications, a shadow day will be scheduled before a final admissions decision is made.

Starting with the 2022/2023 school year, the State of Florida has approved all Kindergarten – 12th grade students to receive either The Family Empowerment Scholarship for Education Options (FES-EO) or the Florida Tax Credit (FTC) Scholarship to attend a private school. These were previously only income-based scholarships; however, those requirements have been removed. We currently have 99% of our Kindergarten – 8th grade students receiving the Step Up for Students Scholarship from the State of Florida paying an estimated 75% of their tuition and fees. For more information, visit www.StepUpForStudents.org

The Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities (FES-US) is available for students ages 3 years old to high school graduation. If you are applying for an FES-US Scholarship, it is required to submit your child’s IEP and/or 504 when applying to Ascension Catholic School. The Admissions Committee will make the final enrollment decision only after we can ensure that the student’s needs can be accommodated.

We look forward to welcoming you to Ascension Catholic School’s first Open House on Thursday, November 14, 2024.
